Cross Roads

The Crossroads: Clarksdale’s Legendary Intersection

At the fabled intersection of Highways 61 and 49 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, lies the iconic Crossroads, a place steeped in myth and music history. Known as the "Devil’s Crossroads," this hallowed ground is forever linked to the legend of bluesman Robert Johnson, who, according to folklore, sold his soul to the devil here for unparalleled musical talent. Marked by three blue guitars on a pole, this storied junction embodies the raw, soulful essence of the Mississippi Delta, where the blues were born and continue to resonate. This curated collection of fine art photography captures the mystique and cultural weight of Clarksdale’s Crossroads, inviting you to feel the haunting allure of a place where music, legend, and history collide. Just a little side note, the actual Crossroads in not where the 61 and 49 Highways meet today.  Originally two highways were in town and has been moved to accommodate larger traffic.
